Root www.unrevoked.com Went Live

So I notice there was a other patch that came out. Now I don't know if I should apply the new patch. The one I'm running is fine and works vary face, sometimes too fast .

Like a dummy I did the update without thinking and now my root is gone. Hopefully unrevoked will have something soon. I enjoyed my WiFi.

I have the HTC EVO & a few weeks ago rooted it for free WIFI. Since then my wife did the sprint update not knowing any better & now root does not work. I've tried rebooting phone & starting over uninstalled, reinstalled & when push start on unrevoked it will say "DONE" but not "ROOTED". Any helpful suggestions?

Same problem here. Just downloaded it, installed it, tested it with wifi tether, it all works. But, it is not sticky after a reboot.

Also, how does one go about doing an "uninstall"?

Edit:
2nd install was sticky for me. Odd, but oh well. Also, I guess if I want to ever uninstall Unrevoked I can just uninstall via,
Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage applications.

Is that correct? Thanks.

Thanks.

Guys you can uninstall with appbrain as well and with uninstaller

Hi every one aim new here n would like to know step by step how do I get this going if any one can please tell me what to do or plzz seand me a email of a video anything will help me thx every one my email is in my profile.

As a noob, I just ran this on my EVO and get the "done" message but not "rooted" message. I tested it by attempting to uninstall "footprints" and was not allowed. So it seems we are still in process here. Thanks for the unrevoked team for working on such and elegant solution for users.

They are letting me down this time....been refreshing their twitter page with little to no updates for those with OTA

Well, if you read up on this method, it does not allow ou to uninstall the stock apps anyway, BUT if you updated to the latest OTA it wont work anyway. all this was good for was to run the free wifi tether stuff and the titanium back-up program

I had to restore my phone to factory settings I had Unrevoked before and want it again with the wifi tether but i forgot how to install the wifi tether. Can someone help.

Anyone do the new unrevoked just released? It's supposed to be for everyone. I'm just not sure about the reflash.

Root and reflash for everyone -- post-OTA EVO, Incredible, Eris, Desire, Aria. unrevoked

yeh that reflash is tricky

does somebody have a full step by step explanation on how to use it?
and is it the latest 1.47 radio and wifi update?

I installed the hboot thing ( go to hboot driver.htm once u unzip the file you download from urevoked3). Then I enabled usb debugging mode. I start the reflash.exe and it says 'pushing recovery image' but it never does anything after that. Still trying.

I got it to restart the phone to where I could use the volume down to get to the hboot option but when it connects to the computer it comes up as Android 1.0 device or something in device manager and I cannot get any driver to work. I downloaded the android SDK and used the usb_drivers folder and nothing seems to work. I thought maybe it was an issue with windows 7/64 bit so I tried on my laptop running xp and I run into the exact same problem...I dont get it :(

what limitations does this have (vs. simple root) since this doesn't allow unlock NAND. what does no having that prevent you from doing (because in the info it says you can do nandroid backups and flash roms- is that an overstatement)

Make sure you do the hboot driver install first. Then I had to uninstall all the htc software before it would go any further.

Ok. I finally got it to work. It kept getting to the last step and 'loosing communication'. Without doing anything but trying again and again it finally went through. I can't tell you how 'rooted' I am (u know nan and all that) but wifi tether is working now and that's all I wanted. Also it didn't wipe any data out. Jut rebooted when done and then wifi tether worked. I'm assuming I could load a custom rom now if I wanted but I'm happy to have my tethering back. Thank you unrevoked!

i'm lost again lol. I found that modified usb driver so it connected. I run the reflash, it reboots my phone, it comes up and i choose the hboot and it briefly says nothing found and then the phone restarts. I know I'm doing something wrong and it has to do with the hboot files. what the heck do i do with them, the hboot folder is sitting on my desktop

Would anyone like to help me with this via gmail chat? I would really appreciate it..

I've never been the person but I'll type up a step by step of what I did in the morning if no one has done it by then. I'd do it now if I didn't have to go into work early.

quick steps of what did though was this on a w7 64-bit box:

1) unistalled any & all htc software off my computer
2) after downloading the file from unrevoked3 I unzipped it. there's a html file in there with instructions to instal 'hboot' if you haven't done it b4. follow the instructions and do that. just so u know this is something that is installed on your computer.
3) then make sure you have usb debugging mode enabled on your phone
4) then manually (navigate to the folder and click) reflash.exe
5) plug in your phone via usb
6) follow all the instructions

don't worry if you have problems. I had to try it about 5-10 times b4 I got it to work. no brickage so you just play with it till you get it (at least that's what I did). wifi tether for free is worth it!
