[Official] What Changes Have You Noticed After Updating to 2.2 (Froyo)?

When I am locked... when I first press the home button or the top power button to start the unlock (before swiping), I see a bell icon and it says "error" next to it. Is that a calendar error?

Anyone figure out how to force the stock messaging app to use the FB contact pictures instead of the pics in Google contacts? Also, the grey box around their pic is really annoying, makes the image small... :(

1. New gallery app
2. Updated camera UI
3. You can rotate to the right now
4. Updated market interface
5. New Swype skin (it's white now)
6. Updated Gmail app
7. Transitioning between the different home screens is smoother now and opening up the menus to add things like widgets and applications to the home screens is noticeably faster
8. New battery modes for the Battery Manager
9. The wifi icons in the Wi-Fi Settings section are white now
10. Battery usage now tells you a lot more specifics like how much battery a specific app is using and how much battery the Android OS is using.
11. No more dead pixels in camera/camcorder.
12. Wifi issue where wifi was unreliable or slow to connect has been fixed.

Why don't we Just use this list and add to it?

No one has called me yet....if the ringer volume was a 5 out of 10 before...What would you say it is now?

Also....Quadrant Benchmark is now 1389-1400 every time.

Before I was around 1280...

Running LP+.

Since I can't disable the PIN on my phone w/o removing my work email account I'm screwed. I basically can't use my phone in the car anymore.

I removed corporate exchange acct, which enabled the PIN entry buttons, and then re-entered my exchange info. No problems with PIN entry now. Give it a shot.

so no one is missing apps they purchased from market yet? im missing atilt 3D labrynth, astropro, and documents to go key along with the free g4TV app.

Anyone else finding their "My Verizon" app and data-use widget not working?
Says "Cannot process request at this time. Please try again later." Perhaps unrelated?

Same here... I had to remove Exchange to disable the lock PIN, then add my Exchange acct back.

Wierd - that's gonna confuse alot of people.

Worked for me as well with my school email. Once I removed the account I could change the security settings. After I added the account back, the settings were still available.

Adding shortcuts to contacts is screwed up. Chooses pictures of different people for the shortcut widget.

This worked fine in 2.1.

It's doing this in LauncherPro and non-launcherpro standard Froyo.

The damn app drawer doesn't pick up where you left off when you come back to it. Starts over from the top. Grrr.

I've been on my phone ALOT today and i'm still at 80% and it's almost noon. i know I have the extended battery, but by now, i would be down to at least 70% or more and i've used it way more playing around since the update!

Upgrade was seamless. Volume improvement ss huge and was really needed, I was missing phone calls. I am really loving this phone.

Anyone sign up for VZW Nav? A bargain at only $9.99/month, LOL!

The messaging app still bothers me... I don't really don't like the changes. I hope someone figures out a way to get it back...

since the update my music app has been horrible. keeps crashing and stalling/lagging!!! everything else seems pefect except that :(!!!

Hmmm, seems it was not so seamless after all, it isn't recognizing my SD card. Any ideas? I rebooted but it still is not working.

Is it just me? The whole world seems faster, smoother, and perfect after the OTA. Browsing on my desktop is now faster, my iRobot finishes the whole apt in half of the normal time, even my wife got up earlier and cooked breakfast. :D

I love 2.2.

Attachments now save to download folder on sd card from Gmail.
Still not saving anywhere I can find from Hotmail.

Specifically .apk files.

This is a list I've sent to a couple non-obsessed friends - apologize for posting things that may already be posted here (I did a quick browse of the thread) or things that are obvious with 2.2. I realize some of this is relative to my phones previous performance and may not be reflected for all.

-Faster overall
-Browser definately faster
-New gmail app is awesome - which is available in market after you get 2.2. Which includes select text in email, and view quoted. and onscreen controls stick.
-Got the quick launch buttons back that the D1 had, where you touch a contact picture and it gives you the popup of options, love it
-New lock screen and new incoming call screen - looks tight,
-8 most recent apps now rather than 6
-New gallery look, vids get own spot too.
-New camera/vid look, and the dead pixel bug that I and some others got on the 2.1 update is gone now
-Gew gtalk look is cool, different color scheme
-Gask manager in 'manage applications' now, which is great. Can kill apps without Advanced Task Killer :)
-Gattery manager has pretty new look
-Display rotates both ways in apps now (most)
-Boots much faster, much.
-Glash! Just google "flash games" and have fun!
-Market is of course different, but much slower. much. I hope it's because everyone is checking stuff out. Auto update options, etc.
-Google earth feels so much faster
-I dont know if "rss feeds" was an option in the browser before or not but now I've noticed I can subscribe to sites rss/atom
-HaveIi mentioned things are faster? (Except scrolling through home screens that seems to have been slowed down a bit, but clearly not processing problem)
-My "use gps" setting for the weather widget now works, before it didn't and I just had to put in zip code
-Power control widget.. the brightness toggle now cycles through 'auto' as well as low med high
-Can customize what is searched now, all vs web vs apps!
-Wifi supposedly fixed, have not verified.
-The news and weather app/widget from droid one! I missed this so much
-Calender is prettier
-Slide to unlock lag slightly better. .
-Chrome to Phone in market now - which is awesome.
-Sounds are louder
-Exchange works
-Google Voice Search now in market, awesome.
-Suggested words on market search
-Haptic feedback weaker (yay)
-Keyboard autocaps a single "i" now
-Was there a .com button in browser keyboards? gone now

-They say a GPS bug is fixed
