Help Gameloft games on the G-tablet?

Zebulon

Android Enthusiast
Back in my dark iOS days, I was always really impressed with most of the Gameloft apps I picked up. I was particularly addicted to Dungeon Hunters and Hero of Sparta.

Well, Gameloft doesn't seem to have much on the market, but you can get lots of their games on android directly from their site. However, you have to enter your device, and the g-tab isn't on their list. Can you just say you use a different device and go with that, or will it not work? I know that tegra-based devices can react differently, but shouldn't the apk file do what it is supposed to?

Anybody have any experience?

Hero of Sparta, just the android one, runs fine, full screen! So wanna play, Dungeon Hunters, runs full screen, has texture problem, but am going to install again shortly! :)

* Update... Dungeon Hunters still has texture problem, textures don't seem to load at all, leaving a dark screen, you can tell things are there, but it's not playable. sadly!

* Hawx 1 runs great, but alot of other games don't. Hope this helps even if not super clear, but that's my experience! :)

Thanks, I appreciate the updates. How are you downloading the apk files? I was trying to buy a game from their site, and it required that I tell them the model of my phone, so I just clicked a random model, and it told me it wasn't available. Is Hero of Sparta just a generic apk file?

I have found that a lot of the newer games won't run. Hawx runs great. Let's Golf and Asphalt 5 run, but aren't formatted right for the tablet. Let's Golf 2, Shrek Kart, and Ashpalt 6 are games I tried that didn't work for me.

So far I have downloaded apk files for Dungeon Hunters 2 and Hero of Sparta, neither of which run. DH starts and prompts you to download half a gig of background info, but then crashes. HoS force closes as soon as you open it.

That's strange about HoS, FCing, it runs fine on mine, it too will prompt you to DL about 90 or so meg, as it needs too, to run. All I can say is I'm running Vegan 5.1.1 and Clemsyn's latest kernal, 9-ish I think! Sorry Dude, wish I was more help! :(

I tried Dungeon Hunters 2 and it said it needed to download more like a gig of data, which I let it do (I had tried DH1 previously, which launched but no textures, ie: unplayable) then it did the same thing as I believe it did for you, can't open video or some rubbish and then crashed back to desktop, but I had a look at this almost a gig and it "possibly" wasn't all downloaded, at nearly a gig, although more like 733 meg, I'm not trying this again, what a bloody waste.

Not impressed by Gameloft, if you hunt around on the interwebs, you'll find lots of phone and tablet owners, complaining that their Gameloft game won't run, similar problems on a diverse range of gadgets on a lot of forums... so... I'll wait til others have better luck than I did! :)

How are you guys able to select Atrix/Galaxy versions?

I tried signing up with my GTab and could not create an account so I went to my PC.

I tried to buy Nova while using my GTab but every version that the XDA-Developers thread said worked gave me a message about it not being available for the selected platform. Atrix/Galaxy/etc - nothing worked.

Thinking my UserAgent in my browser was telling the site I was on a Viewsonic - I went to my PC and tried to order. I got past the "not available" message (Yeay) but it refused to work unless I told it my Cell Phone carrier and number. Then - it sent a SMS message to my cell to download the game (wrong version) to my Droid. (sigh)

I have a lot to learn about how to go around these checks. Any advice?
