Root rooting the bionic

So here is the thing i have a lg ally which most people know is possibly one of the worst android phones right now. My battery die and verizon said i could get an early upgrade. So i was thinking about getting the bionic. Here is my question: On my ally I download a computer program to root my ally can i do the same with the bionic if i happen to get one? Also will the apps that i have backup on my ally be able to be restored on my bionic as well?

Also it would also be helpful to know soon since Verizon is only giving me a few days to decide

Yes there is a 1 click root program. As far as backup you can download a program like Titanium Backup and transfer the files from one to the other and restore them. Dunno if the programs you have are compatible with the Bionic but i am pretty sure they are.
