Upgrading should be fairly easy, if you stop the touchflow app on the phone it drops back to the standard android setup, so im asuming their touch flow is built on top of android and not actualy a modified version of 1.5.

So aslong as the API doenst change for donut im assuming it should still all work. Im hopeing HTC will release an official update as i dont think there going to drop their sense ui, im assuming there going to use it on all there coming phones (would be a waste of time if they didnt)
assuming they dont drematicaly change their hardware any update htc make for Hero or any newer phones should work/easy to modify.

As for the Orange frount, im going to try and get out of my orange contract, got a large list of issues.

The API will change somewhat, as multitouch will be enabled. Quite how significant this will be I don't know, it would suck if Hero owners ended up with worse multitouch if we can only use it in HTC modified applications, while Donut has it across the board. This is very unlikely, but I think HTC will change their multitouch code structure, possibly just dropping all their own code (TBH, I've no idea how much code this would be).

Had my Hero for a week. It's started to lag quite a lot. Freezes up quite frequently to the point of being a deal breaker. Just done a factory reset and it's silky smooth again. Android seems a bit like Firefox to that extent. The more you add to it the worse the performance gets.

That can be said for anything, it always depends how much you add. What widgets do you have running? In particular, any that are quite active (like the audio player, which has to decode MP3s in the background)?

what I should of said, is as long as the current API doesn't change, and they just add or improve the current one then we should be alright.

Explain that please? If I use Taskiller to stop touchflow it doesn't drop back to the standard android at all.
