Root Problem going into CWM or RZM mode.

hi. I am trying to install the blitxkrieg kernel on ly lg esteem.

I rooted the hone with CWM at first, but then I could not get my phone to go into CWM mode using the suggested manuver (press volume + and - at the same time along with power until the phone turns off, then press power three simte at the lg reset screen. correct?)

So then I re rooted with I selected number 3, "root and RZ recovery 2.1.4 Esteem (esteem only!)" and rooted with that. a line command window appeaed finally saying I was done.

Why am I having a problem going into the mode where I can install kernels?up

And one more question: my screen is taking longer to light light back up after going into time out, and sometimes I have to toggle the power button a few times before the screen lights back up. Any ideas?

thanks!

Download ROM manager from market and flash recovery through there. Choose lge esteem not esteem 4g.

The aio is shotty and always has problems

You're doing the combo wrong. Turn the phone off first. Then hold the volume keys then hold the power til it vibrates and release the power and continue to hold the volume keys.

Please try and use clockworkmod . No lie its better than any other recovery . Me speaking cause i tryed the rza didn't like it and it has things to flash to make better ...if u wondering what happen . Well i bounced back to cwm ..:what::D:eek:

Did it! and installed the Plague extreme kernel.
Jesus christ. my phone is like a Ferrari now
Question: do I risk any kind of damage or bricking by overclocking my Esteem to 2.016 GHz on "performance" mode? what are the side effects?

Thanks you guys!

Well all phones are different some can handle overclocking to 2+ with no problems and some can't even overclock to 1900 so just try out whatever your phone likes, so on the safe side don't check the apply on boot if your gonna try overclocking it might not Handle to much which will cause your phone to bootloop.

Golden rule #1 about over clocking-

Just because you can doesn't mean you need to nor have too.

You can hit 190 mph easily on a gixxer, but you don't always do nor have too. ;)

Well you can have some problems one would be your battery would take no time to dis charge and the other would be that it would reboot rampage ... :banghead::what::eek::D:sly:

Thanks, it rebooted itself when I was running it at 2.016, so I scaled back to 1.901 GHz, and it seems happy.
Any other ultra cool stuff I can do?
What I am interested is is a theme ROM that is super minimal, zero bloatware, minus cheesy teen graphics.

Thanks again! It's like having another phone entirely.
