nearly ready to take the plunge

I am sold on the Galaxy Nexus, it will be my next phone. However, I've heard the rumors about the new line(s) of Nexus phones. I'm not interested in those, but I have two questions about how these new phones will affect the current GNexus.

1. Do you think Google will lower the price of the GNexus once the new Nexus phones start rolling out? I'd hate to pay $350 (which seems reasonable) only to find out I could've waited 2 weeks and paid $279 or something.

2. Is there any chance Google will stop selling the GNexus once the new phones release? I doubt it but I would feel like an idiot if I waited for a price drop and instead I missed my chance to buy one altogether.

Thanks in advance, I am excited to get one.

This is the thing, i do believe the price of the GNex will lower come the release of the next Nexus line phone, however, this price may not lower until X-Mas time, who knows.

I highly doubt that Google will end a product just because they released a newer version of it, i mean they are still making money off of it.

1. Probably. As will most retailers when a newer version of something comes along

2. Probably. They've never had 2 Nexus phones selling together before (AFAIK) - if the new LG is a proper Nexus then I'd imagine the Galaxy will fade away.

Still a great phone and I'm not changing mine any time soon but it may be worth waiting a couple of weeks. Not long in the scheme of things

At some point all electronics go down in price and you wish you would have waited. But you will always be able to say that or justify waiting longer to see what happens. At some point you have to decide when to pull the trigger.

I think waiting until after 29 October is not unreasonable. But I also believe if you wait til xmas it could be cheaper. But then you will have to use what you have now and the life cycle of the Nexus will be three months older.

And I agree with digital controller. Google will always have a signature phone. Just whether or not it compares favorably to the rest of the market in your opinion will change.

Well this backfired. I am not a fan of non-replaceable batteries (what do you do if the phone freezes and you can't get it to turn off?) but there's no way to buy an actual new unlocked GNex now. I guess I'll be waiting til the N4 is available. Nice price point. I hope it doesn't suck.

Nearly all phones with non replaceable batteries have a hard reset feature, like hold the power and volume up, in the event your phone freezes. But Yea I hope it doesn't suck, looks promising, I'd wait for press reviews first.
