You are good to go download the rom and the multi view mod and if you want the kernel that shabby posted and you will be in glory lol this rom and kernel combo is perfect

Sorry post #274 is the kernel sorry I'm at work :p

yeah sorry guys not many cosmetic changes due to all the issues trying to get the thing to work lol, but ill start plucking away at shit now that I have a lil more free time ;)

I re-uploaded the multiwindow mod, removed all the extra apps I forgot about haha.. meant to take those out :D

I've been testing to replicate the boot-loop issue I've had and pin down the possible cause for you, LD. After testing I've come to believe the issue could be an inconsistency perhaps between the rom's and the multiwindow mod's android.policy.jar files.?

This is the reasoning and process I used.

First i established that the rom by itself works great (as i said in my previous post). I factory reset, wiped all data and flashed the rom. It booted and I bypassed most of the initial setup to get to the homescreen and immediately locked the phone with the phone side button. I waited for a sec or two, hit the button again to show the tw lockscreen...and it did...I can lock and unlock and get to the homescreen with no issues. But you already knew all that. :)

Next I started over following basically the same process. I factory reset, wiped all data and flashed the rom and immediatly flashed the new multiwindow mod this time. It booted and I bypassed most of the initial setup to get to the homescreen and like before, immediately locked the phone with the phone side button. I waited for a sec or two, hit the button again to show the lockscreen...and it soft bootloops. On one occasion it went right to the home screen (never showed the lockscreen) and soft bootlooped seconds after but mostly when you unlock it immedialtly soft bootloops showing nothing but the dreaded "White Screen of Death".

A factory reset in twrp clears the bootloop.

Heres what i've learned. First I found that turning off all lockscreen options lets you lock and unlock without bootloops (lockscreen shortcuts, lockscreen time, lockscreen help, and ripple effect are all enabled or checked by default). You get a lockscreen with only the wallpaper and no information but also no soft bootloops.

After switching them on, one at a time and checking to see if it soft bootloops or not, only enabling lockscreen ripple caused the soft bootloop for me. I can turn all other options of the tw lockscreen on and it is fine. Enabling lockscreen ripple at any time and locking/unlocking causes my phone to soft bootloop.

It seems that if you use the aosp lockscreen and set it up before you try and lock the phone...you get no issue (cause you have to turn off all tw lockscreen options to use the aosp lockscreen).

Also, this only happens to me after flashing the multiwindow mod. So...i'm thinking android.policy.jar is a file common to both the rom and mod and if my understanding is correct android.policy.jar is where the lockscreen edits are done and so perhaps that's where the error is.

It would be awesome if someone could try and replicate the steps and see if they have the same results.

Hope some of this helps.

Thanks arocker haven't had that issue I did try I use the asop locksreen as well I guess my phone likes it :p

Sorry, im not following. When i use aosp lockscreen it works great. I have issue with normal tw lockscreen...specifically the ripple effect. You turned off aosp lockscreen and enabled regular lockscreen stuff and ripple with the multimod installed? and no issue...is that right?

Lol yes my bad I'm just waking up :p

Is there a certain way to flash 4.2 camera with photosphere like wipe cache or uninstall stock camera?

yeah thanks for all that fine literature to read :) haha but anyway yeah the android.policy and basically 99% of the mod is NOT pure stock MB2 files.. shabby and I have both established this and I am secretly working in the background to try and figure out how to actually port the mod itself to our beloved roms..

as of now me and shabby are using the same mod files.. but the difference with mine is the added aosp lockscreen portion.. so I expect a lil buggy-ness lol but all-in-all it works fine.. jus make sure to turn of ALL options except for clock when using AOSP Lockscreen to avoid these soft bootloops etc..

I already solved the wifi arrow issue so I believe I can get down to the rest of it.. it's an insane mod to try porting.. 49 references to multi-window jus in 1 smali file so it's going to take a long time lol.. hoping metro just adds it themselves or someone else with much more knowledge helps out one day haha but until then enjoy what ya got :p

and BTW, that's why I made multiwindow separate from the rom.. because it's buggy.. just like all of em lol, except metropolis seems to handle things better due to no lockscreen modifications hha

Im back on the number two with no multi window, I like it L.
I personally don't even like wulti-window.. and I know a few devs who feel the same about it lol, so I use the pure stock rom no multi window :D

I want to start working on theming more stuff like mms and contacts & settings to have an aosp look and feel to it but with still keeping the tw features

I had a mms port from aosp working with no mms craches, but mms still jus never would send.. that was the only issue tho haha I like the aosp mms so much because quick reply :D so it's on my list of things haha

Thanks for reading it ld. I didnt realize how long it was till I sent it. :p

So you added the aosp lockscreen to the rom...and you had to add it to the multiwindow mod too right? Cause they both have android.policy.jar.

Ur saying that the aosp lockscreen breaks the touchwiz lockscreen in the multiwindow mod? Is that right? If so, it shouldnt do that should it?

I'm trying to understand and learn.
I appreciate your patience man :)

I dont suppose it matters anyway if the rumor about premium suite is true.

haha nah man.. I mean unless it was a fluke you can still use the aosp lockscreen and or touchwiz lockscreen with multi mod.. they worked fine for me when I tested things out lol

Idk if this helps but I know there's a thread on XDA that tells you how to modify the SecPhone.apk to make the AOSP MMS work. BTW there's also a zip that let's you install AOSP MMS.apk on touch wiz with working MMS.
