turn off tap to wake

I would really, really like it if my phone only went to the unlock screen (from sleep) when I press the power button.

Is this buried somewhere in the settings, or do I need an app for it?

Which HTC phone software you have are you rooted. And may I ask what do you have it doing when it awakes

If you are on the M8: Try settings -> Display & gestures -> Motion Launch Gestures -> Try 'unchecking' the first item "Motion Launch Gestures"
