Help Why is Android System/OS taking up so much battery...?

Here are my stats, so I'm just using my phone for like an hour, and I drop like 20%...

As you can see, Screen, Android SYstem and OS are all high. My brightness is REALLY low, the apps I'm using are Skype, Messenger, Instagram. But why aren't they at high percentages?

Over here shows Android System at 42.51%...

And then here it shows all of the apps that are draining battery.. but idek what to do..

Some of the apps are: Weather, YouTube, My-T Mobile account, System Manager App, com.sec.ims, Knox Notification Manager, Google-Text-To-Speech Engine, S Voice, Geo News, ANT HAl Service, Car Mode.... I'm not even using 85% of these apps...

Here's the whole stats from the Android Battery Usage data:

Screen is a big user - how much of that hour did you spend with the screen on? Even turned down, the screen is a big power drain on most phones, and you've not actually said what phone this is. Also many of the apps you name use network connections, which also drain power.

"Android OS" is a catch-all for an awful lot of things. If you want more information on what is actually using your power there are apps like BetterBatteryStats or GSam Battery Monitor which you can use to break this down in more detail and try to understand what's going on.

My bad, it's the Galaxy S5. And yeah I was using my phone for let's say an hour straight to see how much percentage I could use up. It went down by like 20%..

I've tried GSam Battery Monitor, same thing. Android System uses up majority of it, I tried turning off the apps, some apps can't be turned off. :/

Look, it's obvious at a glance from one of the so-called battery reports, the one with the big OPTIMIZE NOW button, that you're running some sort of memory cleaner, automatic task killer, or battery optimizer.

Whatever it is, get rid of it.

It's flat out lying to you and drawing more power and ram than it reports to save.

You may have to live through a few restarts and charge cycles before your phone is cured of the effects of any so-called optimizer.

Messenger is a known power hog (a huge one actually), as is Facebook.

Skype may be holding your phone awake with the screen off as well, if you're always logged in.

Start there.

PS - I don't think that you really understood Hadron - if your system is showing high consumption and Messenger is not, then all you're seeing is Messenger passing the buck. The problem isn't the system - it's how Messenger is abusing it.
