How do I get Swype on my Desire?

I just read about it on AF and looked it up on You Tube and it looks pretty cool and wanted to try it out. Anyone know how I can get it on my Desire?
Thanks.

Er, check if you can still zoom in on web pages after installing it. It is super cool, but breaks multitouch on the HTC Desire.

does anyone knows when will the beta be over?

I guess when they stop having bugs reported and stop cocking about with it themselves :D

Works with no issues for me and I am hoping that when they go full release with it that they won't charge those already with the Beta versions. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a paid for app in the end.

All I'd say is be patient with it. Give it a couple of days, position your finger and hand so you can see the keyboard. Once you get your head round it, its bloody fantastic. There's no going back for me. All I'll add though is I preferred the previous version, anyone else think that? I can recall setting it up perhaps by accident and it was smooth as silk. I adjusted couple of the settings just a tad and it was great. This version I'm using as standard and its not quite as good, but still the best. Apparently the inventor of this, invented t9!

I've only tried it on five or six text messages so far and already I've gone from incredibly-slow-what-the-heck-is-happening-here mode to being reasonably quick. I can see this being fantastic once I've learned all the little tricks (punctuation still trips me up at the moment, and anything that "breaks the flow" like mistyping, I mean misswyping, something slows me down).

Definitely wouldn't mind paying for it at that point (actually I wouldn't mind paying for it right now, I've not come across any bugs and I think it'll be my default input method from now on, the only thing worrying me is that as it's a beta they could take it away at any point whereas if I'd paid for it it'd be mine to keep).

Yeah once you've got your head round it, its great.when they took the previous version off me that was a nightmare.. The other swype type keyboard I tried but didn't like at all. I think I've found my settings I like. I've gone into swype settings, and pushed the bar just a tad in favor of speed over accuracy. Doesn't seem to effect accuracy any but allows me to be as quick as before. Also the trace path I've shortened just a bit too. I've never come across any bugs at all. Why its not a full version god knows.

And don't forget that little trick that I leant on here. A directional cursor is great for any keyboard so that you can edit or just move the cursor around. To get it on swype, touch the bottom left button (information button, then swype over one key to the symbol burton and pesto a directional keypad pops up.

I really like it. Just wonder if we can have a quick straw poll.

Who thinks it's really much quicker than typing?

Don't forget those occasions when you need to type names etc.

It's not faster than T9 imo, but it's a lot faster than typing on the touchscreen keyboard, especially if you're on the move.

I am still undecided on it. I have been very impressed with the accuracy of the words it brings up. My usual trick to try and throw off alternate input methods is to try latin names of fish I know. The first one I tried was Hippocampus (latin genus for Seahorses). It got it first time, very impressive.

I think It will take a bit of getting used to but I'm going to stick with it. I am all for speeding up the input process as long as the accuracy does not suffer because of it :)

For anyone who hasn't seen them yet, watch the tutorials on the swype website. They're worth watching for great pointers and to improve your 'swyping'.
