With the advent of ISOCELL technology, I'm surprised that nobody has started a discussion thread for the S5's camera, so I'll kick it off with this.
Below is an article with full-size pics that compares low-light performance of the S5's 16MP ISOCELL shooter to the Experia Z2's 20.7MP shooter...
How do I get it off without also taking off the paint of the battery cover? :(:frown::dontknow:
This kind of stuff never happened to my wfs. Why did it have to happen to my GS3 :bawling:
If you care be sure not to allow your GT-I9300 upgrade to XXBLG6.

Today my Wildfire S and some $$$ traded hands :bawling: It was a great first Android phone and I never regretted purchasing it for a second. Due to it's main weakness (low memory) I had to root and customize the phone which gave me lots of opportunities to learn how android works. It also...
Before you start, you will need to set up your computer to properly recognize the phone. You probably did this when rooting originally, but just in case... Install SDK tools for Android, Java runtime, and HTC Sync.
About HTC Sync: The only reason you need HTC Sync installed is for the USB...
I'd be buying it in Cambodia just before leaving for the US so I won't be able to return it to the vendor immediately if there are any probs. Google didn't have much to say except availability issues early on for the Pebble Blue. And so far one unit has burned up. :smokingsomb: Other than that...
One of the biggest complaints levelled at the HTC Explorer is the severe lack of internal memory. There are ways around this, one of which is forcing downloaded apps to install to the SD Card. There are a couple of pre-requisites, but the process itself is relatively straight forward. :)...

This is actually one person who has three accounts at XDA. Due to practices both unethical and against XDA forum rules, he has been banned.
Events like this remind us to be careful about whose ROM we give access to important personal data like accounts and passwords.

I'm stumped here!
I'm trying to flash the HTC EU ROM onto my Asia market HTC One V (unlocked bl, rooted, cwm recovery). The two ROMs are compatible as they are both for the same part number (PK7610000). In the android-info.txt inside both ROM.zips the only difference is the rotten CID.
I've...
This tutorial is for rooting the HTC One V which involves unlocking the phone’s bootloader and flashing a file to the phone via USB cable.
Note: It is NOT necessary to gain S-OFF to root the One V.
This guide may also work for rooting the HTC Wind / HTC Desire S (T328w). If you decide...
At the Mobile World Congress 2012, Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 running Ice Cream Sandwich. GSMArena.com got their hands on a demonstrator and produced the Youtube video below showing it off. I think we can expect the ICS release for the 8.9 to look about the same. What do you think...
As indicated by the thread title, this guide is for the Marvel / A510e / GSM version of the HTC Wildfire S. You can check this by going into bootloader as follows: Turn the phone off, pull the battery for 5 seconds, replace the battery, hold volume down and press the power button. You will see a...
[RESOLVED] htcdev.com has now released an unlockable bootloader for 2.13.401.3. If you update, you will still lose unlock and thus root, but you can get them back by going through the process at htcdev.com again.
Do not accept OTA Update 2.13.401.3 as it will revert your HBOOT version to...

NOTE: This tutorial is for rooting the HTC Wildfire S by unlocking the phones bootloader even with S-ON. It is no longer necessary to gain S-OFF in order to root the Wildfire S!
This method of rooting the phone became possible with HTC devs release of the unlocked bootloader for the Wildfire...
As promised, HTC has finally released the Wildfire S bootloader unlock. Check it out at HTCdev - Unlock Bootloader. The tool requires a specific HBOOT so you may be required to apply a new RUU to unlock your bootloader. This will wipe out your data so don't forget to run a backup!
How do I do it?
1. Dial *#*#4636#*#*
2. Select Phone info
3. Near the bottom, change Set preferred network type from WCDMA preferred to GSM auto (PRL).
What do these settings mean?
WCDMA preferred
I bought my Wildfire S just over a week ago and have been lamenting the poor battery performance... having to recharge 2x/day. Under Settings/About Phone/Battery/Battery use “dialer” has been consuming 50-95% of the battery every day.
Today I came across a battery saving tip...
I've been scouring the web to find a way to push a Unicode ttf font onto my Wildfire S. So far every answer requires rooting or at least gaining S-OFF. (Sadly, my phone is S-ON.) From what I can tell, neither S-OFF or rooting is possible with my phone without an XTC clip. I've already checked...
