Last month we learned that Spreadtrum would be working with Intel to launch a new SoC built on the company's Atom chip design. Today, the details have been revealed and we learn it has 8 2.0 GHz cores, the PowerVR GT7200 GPU, and is capable of LTE connectivity.
Intel hasn't had the best of luck in the mobile market but they certainly haven't given up. It seems the Chinese chip maker, Spreadtrum, is working on a chip for mid-range smartphones that is said to be in phones in the second half of this year.
