Root [1st Gen] Have I Bricked My Kindle Fire??

Was attempting to re-root my Fire with KFU, however KFU chose to install TWRP first which I think prevented me from ever achieving root. So as instructed to reinstate my stock Fire out of the box I flashed the update file as I had before to unroot it which worked perfectly. However, now I am stuck at the Kindle Fire boot screen and no TWRP to boot into recovery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
try letting the battery go down all the way. then recharge. and turn it back on. let us know what happens then.
