1st Quarter 2010

That really means nothing for this phone. It isn't based upon the release schedules of other phones. It's based upon when a carrier wants it. The Passion has been in the works for a while and Verizon is snatching up the best Android phones.

No carrier is going to release the HD2 for Christmas time because it's a Windows Mobile phone. Windows Mobile just isn't a popular operating system and a high end expensive Windows Mobile phone isn't exactly going to be the next big thing. Android is quickly growing in popularity and Verizon views it as the way to go for pushing smartphone sales.

The Passion is very likely to hit the market this year. Even the CEO of HTC hinted at a Andriod phone coming to Verizon for the Christmas holiday sales season. The HD2 isn't going to stop it. It's it own phone and has no impact on the release of any other phone release. HTC does not control the release schedules of their phones. They build phones to sell to carriers and carriers choose when something is to be released.
