I'm using Techno p3, which is 2.3.5 Ginger bread and I want to upgrade it to 4.0....because the BBM app for Android is for 4.0 and above.

You will more than likely have to root your device first, and even then, performance may not be satisfactory. Recommended minimum hardware for ICS (4.0) is 1 GHz dual-core processors and 512+ MB RAM. Your phone has 800 MHz dual-core CPU and 512 MB RAM.
