Root [2nd Gen] No luck trying to root my KF HD

Hi
I think I have the 2nd generation KF HD 7"
System version: 8.4.9_user_#########

No matter what I try, I can't root my KF. I just purchased a Google Chrome and would love to add Google Cast to it and other "real" apps like YouTube, but so far no luck.

If I do have the 2nd generation, has someone rooted this and posted instructions?

I don't have the HD version but I have the second generation version of the non HD version and I can't root it at all. I've tried everything I can find on how to root it and can't. If you or anyone else comes up with something I'm game to try it.
