Just look at this video in 720p from the LG Optimus 2X, the phone might be able to handle 1080p, but it just excels in 720p 
much smoother motion than with 1080p enabled!
Edit: This can also be a general camera/video quality thread, sorry about the thread being a bit specific XD remember to resize photos in photoshop or whichever image editing software you use
