Root a CURRENT(jan. 2016) way to root a VS980 (verizon)?

Hey,I stressed the word current,because in the past I have attempted to root phones that were a bit out of their prime,like the LG-G2,and find that some of the links and downloads were not correct or corrupted,which leads to more questions and unexpected diagnosis.

I will probably stick with the stock ROM.

This method below just worked for me last week. But my phone is on 4.4.2 but give it a shot. If you need a custom recovery goto my post about TWRP in 30 seconds right above yours. Well now that im posting here its probably right below this one. Good Luck!
