Well, it's been almost 2 weeks since I traded my buddy my Optimus for his admire and my main reason for wanting to switch was full support of flash. I should have done a little more research first because it definitely does not come with nor is adobe flash available for download in the market. You have to download it and transfer it to your phone then download a. Lib file extract it and replace the original with the new one so although flash is available, you have to do some work to get it going.
There is a oneclick root procedure that can be confusing. I ran it 4 times before I took the failed message as a grain of salt and just manually installed super user which to my surprise successfully finished rooting the phone for me. There is only one dev. working on the admire right now and he is dealing with a personal family issue that in my opinion should put working on the phone way out of his mind but it hasn't, so I believe that a rom and custom recovery, although not available yet, will be very soon.
The phone is 800mhz so much faster than the Optimus stock. No oc kernel available yet but I notice minimal if any lag @ all, my nes emulator runs Super Mario Brothers 3 very smooth. So I don't see a rush in needing to over clock the admire but it will definitely be fun to play with different speeds when it is made available.
The screen is noticeably bigger and more crisp or clear on the admire and going from the Optimus running cm7 to stock admire photos seem hd quality on the admire. The camera itself, although only 3.2 mp seems to take photos in hd quality compared to the Optimus, same can be said about the video recorder.
I will not give a recommendation here, i will say that using the admire is a welcome change but to say one is better than the other is hard for me cuz each one has its benefits. And neither one is going to make you feel the need to switch to the other one so I feel it would be best for you to use your own personal preference in making the decision to stay or switch, my goal here was simply to share the way I feel and what I have noticed in switching to the admire.
If anyone here is like me though and needs direct confirmation b4 making a decision then this will help you... I do not regret my decision to switch nor do I get the urge to switch back.
