I plan to eventually flash my Ascend back to stock and unroot. I'd like to give the phone to a family member to use primarily for accessing the internet in places where there is wifi.
Right now the phone is f'ed up with a bad zip file so I can't try it. Would the person I give it to be able to start a gmail account and access the Market when connected to wifi? Or would they only be able to just surf the web?
Before the bad zip file, I noticed that even though I don't have Cricket as a carrier, I'm still getting their 3g and able to access the internet without wifi.
