I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with syncing calendar events from a text message to the HTC Status. I will be more than happy to assist you with this issue. Unfortunately the ability to import ICS files is not available on the Status.
However you may be able to find a compatible third-party application that will allow greater control with saving/importing ICS files. On the Status, select All Apps > Market > Search. Please keep in mind, when HTC makes reference to third-party products or services, we do so on an "as is" basis with no implied warranty or guarantees about the functionality or suitability of the product.
