Help Amss

Please forgive my ignorance, but can someone tell me exactly what AMSS is/does? I've googled it, and looked on wikipedia, but had a hard time trying to figure it out... is it useful to look at for anyone who doesn't have an i7500L?

ams is the radio/baseband of the phone. its important to be aware of this with the i7500 and i7500l as the radio stack supports a different frequency and sim configuration
If you flash an EU AMSS to a Canadian/Brazil device you will lock the device phone part and it will as for unlock key but it wont work as the device actually doesnt support that config

this is why when flashing EU roms it is advised to delete the AMSS as then it will retain the original i7500L AMSS and continue to function as it should
