Root An Alternative To *2sd Scripts

JerryScript

One of the main issues reported over and over again in these and other forums covering the Optimus V is trouble using various 2sd scripts, links2sd, DT a2sd, etc, etc. People spend hours partitioning and reformatting their sdcards, often loosing apps in the process, and then having to do it all over again anytime they update or switch ROMs. There is a much easier alternative:

Titanium Backup or MyBackup or similar backup type apps. For this post, I will be referring to Titanium Backup (TB), but what follows holds true for just about any of the backup apps available.

Let me begin by asking you a question: When was the last time you used the Speed Test app?

You may be someone who is obsessive about their download speeds and you test it everyday. More likely, you are like the rest of us, and you only test download speeds when you think there is an issue. If you fall into the latter category, then there is absolutely no reason for the Speed Test apk to sit on your phone for weeks at a time taking up space.

A simple solution that will provide you with virtually unlimited storage space is to backup apps you don't use often, then uninstall them till you need them. Titanium Backup can restore an app in less than 30 seconds. So use the Speed Test app, then back it and it's data up, and then uninstall it till you need it again.

Take a moment to go through your app drawer, and write down every app you haven't used in a week. Back those apps up with TB, then uninstall them till needed. You'll find you have virtually unlimited storage space this way, and it is less of a PITA than having to deal with wonky scripts that not only cause lots of people headaches, but can actually physically damage your sdcard. ;)
