android can't reset

Hi, I am happy I found this forum. I hope someone can help me to solve the problem.
I bought a android 2.3.3 pad for my son and after 1 week my son told me there are something wrong with the pad.
Most software can't run. I can't run MY PAD. I try soft and hard factory reset many time. The system can restart and showed erase partition. But nothing were deleted.I can't get factory default. Any suggestion? Thanks a lot!

Can you provide a bit more information about what tablet you are using? In Android 2.3.3, you can perform a factory reset by:

To factory reset, select Settings then Privacy and then Factory data reset.

Does this not work for you? Is that option not there?

This is a brand name android pad. For soft reset, I did follow the Settings then Privacy and then Factory data reset. For hard reset, I found a small hole and used needle to do that.
