Root angry birds

Oh I know it's a stupid old game but one of my colleagues has an iPhone, just discovered it (yes she lives under a rock) and is now addicted. I thought I'd give my old i7500 to another colleague so she could play as well. So I installed Galaxo, AB barely loaded. So I started again and flashed GAOSP beta 3, it loads but it's barely playable, the birds jerk across the screen.

So what ROM or settings do people suggest I use to make this game playable? Just go back to stock 1.6? I don't care about using it as a phone, think of it as a dumb iPod style device.

Thanks.

The GPU just cant handle it.

I just made my first android game, and it was a crazy nightmare making it playable on slow phones like the galaxy. I managed it in the end (check it out if you like its in my signature - free demo on the market), but big companies like Roxio dont care about optimising their games to 'barely' work on old devices :(

If you really want to give it a shot, you need to check the init.rc and remove all running processes that you dont need. You could also kill the launcher and force it to launch angry birds on boot. However from my experience testing my game, the galaxy had 9mb ram still available and was using 40 to 60% cpu, yet still was lagging. The GPU just isnt upto it.
