Help Anyone use handcent with Droid x?

i use Handcent. Changing LED doesn't seem to work. Also, it seems kinda slow on the X compared to other apps

I've installed and used it a bit, but I honestly don't see any real differences between it and the stock Droid X texting.

My X is on the way, but I have used Handcent on my Eris since day 1 so it will immediately be going on the X.

I use it and have a custom led for when i get a text message its magenta and blue for when i get an email. handcent is way better then stock messenger IMO

Custom LED works fine for me. Or are you talking about the setting where you actually use the sliders to make the color? A friend of mine has that setting but I've never seen it.

they sent out an update(handcent developers) because at first the led light wouldnt let u change and now you are able to that was about a week ago that they did that though.

Its not free texting the only thing that does that is google voice i think but supposedly they changed that so its not as easy to get free texting and calling

But if you dont have unlimited texting anyway no text app is going to help

I used it for awhile on my eris but went back to stock. Stock just seems to be more snappy. So I just stuck with the stock SMS app on the X

No change in texting just calling.

I use handcent. Its a decent program. No issues with it. It looks nicer than stock.

I am using handcent only because I don't like the bubble message (which I can't figure out how to change on the stock version) and I like the different color LED (that I can't figure out on stock either).

My StepDaughter is getting her X tomorrow. She is a huge TXTer and wants to know if there is an app, where she can do a voice command, and it will 'dictate' the TXT msgs for her to send?

Well, glad I picked the right thread then! I've seen VoiceText and didn't know how that compared...any one have pros/cons 'twixt the two?

i never used voice text so i dont have any real experience with that on handcent it is very easy and usually picks the right word you say. I only used it once or twice but its simple and works well

One last question...does it transcribe into other apps..like Twitter? Or only for Texting?

ok once again ANYONE HERE SAYING NO ISSUES CAN YOU GET A BACKGROUND TO LOOK GOOD WITHOUT DISTORTING IT?

I can get a background to look good you just need to get a big enough picture. I mean they all will be distorted somewhat since they are being stretched to fit the screen
