Root APK removal question

How do I remove google now inverted? I can't update to the new regular version in the Play Store.

Using Astro file manager, I see under system/apps, there is an apk called quicksearchbox. It has the same icon shown for google now but I'm not sure that's the one to remove.

I believe thats it but with astro I am not sure you can mount the system r/w to remove it.

I use root explorer. navigate to system/apps, at the top right it will say mount r/w click it, locate the file and long press it and select rename. delete the .apk part and make it bak. This way the app is still there if something goes wrong but will not run. reboot your xoom. go to the play store and download google now.

Very odd, by using Astro I can see the app in system/app. You are right, Astro cannot set r/w permissions.

In using CyanogenMod File Manager (which does allow r/w changes), the app is nowhere to be found in that folder. Where could it be?
