My son recently upgraded his phone and gave me his old Galaxy S3 to replace my failing S2. AT&T provided an unlock code and I moved the phone to my T-Mobile account. The handset is not rooted.
Yesterday, AT&T started trying to push a software update to the unlocked phone. I don't know what's in the update, but the handset is on 4.1.1 and according to research, AT&T releasted 4.4.2 in June so maybe that's what's going on.
I wouldn't mind having 4.4.2 and I definitely don't want to have to keep postponing the update indefinitely, but I'm concerned that my phone may be re-locked if I accept the update and not being an AT&T customer, I don't have a clue how I'd re-unlock it again.
Anyone have any experience with this scenario and can offer me some advice?
