Root Avid 4g and other questions

Hi, I've got some basic hardware questions about the force, the blade, and the avid 4g. Most of the reading I have done says that the avid is basically the same as the force (I mean even the root works on the force). What I would like to know is how this adapts to roms and recoveries. Basically, what hardware differences stand between using avid software on force? Also all the searches I did for the force turned up info onthe blade. Is there a reason? Are they similar? Or is it just a search engine finding "zte" then blade was 1st alphabetical modifier? Thanks in advance

Maybe try sending a pm to jimsmith80, I believe he is the one who spearheaded the port of the avid matrix kernel to the force.

I'd like to pick his brain a bit about compiling for the force. I'd really like to get the 1.8Ghz overclock working on either the stock or matrix kernel. Other phones using this same platform (msm8690) have had it working for a couple years now already.

I guess the info is out there I just haven't had time to look.

Cheers,
-SB

kernel is kinda over my head atm. I guess what Im getting at is kinda like what you are saying though. it seems there isn't much to do with this phone (and like so many others have said, its a shame because its a great piece of hardware) Ive read a tutorial on porting roms and am willing to give it a shot, I just want a bit more in depth knowledge first. The tutorial I read basically said to match a couple of key specs and then transfer in your devices data (basically) so I wanna know what limitations are keeping this bad boy in the ICS ages. I just hate to think that I will actually have to become a developer to get JB for this phone. But I will. Really slowly too :)
