Help Backup Contacts

I want to do a hard reset on my phone, but not unless there is a way to backup and save all my contacts. I am rooted, running shabbymod .9, and still on Android 2.2 . Any thoughts?

Try logging into your gmail account through your phone's account settings

That will back up all your contacts to contacts.google.com and attach them to your google login
when you wipe your phone, and then log into google again, it will sync your contacts back to your phone

this is first day of Android 101 stuff

Worked like a charm. Just checked my web account and all of my contacts were there. Thanks A bunch!

Sync with your gamil account. Or you can backup them to your sd card. Go people then click menu "Import/Export" -> "Export to SD Card". Then you contacts will be save in a vcard file.

I've always used Gmail to backup my contacts but never really knew about the import/export feature in Contacts . I don't know that I'll ever need it but it's nice to know the option is available . Thanks !

I've used it on the phones of some people I've helped. You'd be surprised how many folks do not remember their gmail password!

There should be a way to retrieve your password with the phone since it's already logged in.

Are you paying attention Google?
