Battery consumption

I recently got a new RAZR HD (not MAXX). I've been using it a few weeks and notice that the battery doesn't seem to last very long. I usually need to charge the phone once a day. With my old Driod X, I could go a couple of days without charging.

I don't really use the phone that much. Maybe one or two calls per day and occasional app usage. I have wifi, bluetooth, and GPS normally off. I only turn them on when needed. I use an airplane scheduler app to turn on airplane mode at night.

I also have "auto update apps over wifi only" turned on and the battery save SmartAction enabled. Anything else I can do?

Is my experience typical?

Thanks.

You can turn your screen timeout down to 10 seconds or so (the screen eats a lot of battery). And you can turn data off when you're not using it, although that doesn't use much battery when it's not actually being used. Also check your scheduler app - it may be using more battery than it's saving you.

Different phone models have different battery usage. They also have other differences. Your phone may work well with a much weaker signal, for instance. There's no "best all around" phone.
