Help Battery life for VOIP (Skype/Fring/Nimbuzz)?

I am getting a Galaxy S end of this week or early next week. Wondering how good it will be for VOIP. I am thinking of using either Skype, Fring or Nimbuzz in the background 24x7, connected mostly over 3G but sometimes (at home and at work) over Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi is going to drain the battery faster, then I can have it on 3G all the time. I'm more than happy if I can get one day out of it. What do you guys think? Has anyone tried it?

Strange.. no one seems to be using their Galaxy S for VOIP calls. Oh well...., guess I'll find it out myself next week.

I couldnt actually install skype on my Galaxy S even after going to the web page and entering my mob number I was just told that a version didnt exist yet :-(

FWIW, I have an incredible, and just started using Nimbuzz 2. When I have no cell or wifi signal (like every day at my office...), that app seems to crank my processor way up (phone gets hot and non-responsive), and kills the battery in short order.
