Battery misreading?

So tonight after charging my phone up, pulled it off for a bit. Picked it up to check for notifications, screen didn't come on, figure it had one of its random power offs.

When it powered up, showed I had 1% battery left. I'm assuming here its a case of a misread as I've been using it for like 20 minutes at 1% lol.

Anyone experienced this?

How long had you had it on the charger? Any idea what it was sitting at beforehand?
I pretty much never run my phones battery completely down, but I know with my Nexus 7 (since I rarely use it), if the battery dies, it takes FOREVER to charge even to boot.

It was around 95% before I took it off and was prior on the charger for some odd 3 to 4 hours.

Just found it odd to be on pretty much a full charge then to read as a dead battery randomly.

I believe this is a known problem which Motorola are working on a fix for.
