Help bbc iplayer - new zealand

Newbie
My sister has just come back to live in the UK from New Zealand and now wants to install BBC iplayer on her Nexus 7 bought in New Zealand but it will not allow it. Anyone know how to do this please.

Hi

I think you wil have to access iPlayer on the BBC website (using the device's browser) and run a VPN connection with the host server in the UK. (I use the openVPN Connect app with a vpn from PrivateTunnel, but there are many available) Open the VPN before you connect to the BBC website. The iPlayer app itself wont work at all as far as I can tell.

The issue is that google has the Nexus registered in New Zealand. You could try this: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/42347/how-do-i-change-the-google-play-country

It probably thinks its still in New Zealand and you will need to go through all the country menus and change everything to UK. Try on some differing wi fi networks so it gets a selection of different IP Addresses. If you are using a NZ 3G card and roaming then that could be a reason too.

Install the free UK version.
Might have to uninstall the Kiwi one 1st but try without it
(surely Google knows she's in UK now)
If you can't see the free version on Play, pm me n I'll try n help
