Root Best rom???

I know the forums tell me a lot of which roms work better and if I do research it will also tell me how to do it. I am on stock firmware software version ms77010f , 4.0.4 and kernel 3.0.8. I am not sure what it means by rom for firmware f and so on. Can someone please explain it to me.
Also, it will be my day to day phone.Which rom will you guys recommend??(battery life is a huge must along with phone fully functional)

stock roms are the only "fully functional" roms. that being said, i would suggest flashing my liquid smooth rom plus gt's kernel.

Do what Johnny said. But AFTER flashing cm10 first. not on stock.

Your rom is awesome man and with the kernel together they give the phone a new meaning. Unfortunately I cant use it on a daily basis because of the tethering and other little bugs on cm.10 . Are there any mods or kernels that will work on stock? once again thanks for the fast reply

My kernel works on stock. You can use an init.d script with my kernel to get tether. Unfortunately I've never used that script so you'll have to google it. That may help if you're interested in sticking with johnny's liquid rom.
