Root [BETA]Cyanogen!! Landed!!! :) Go get it![Updated 7/12/2011]

Okay I understand now I can toggle back and forth between recoveries in clockwork Mod. Ty.
Edit: does anyone know if the nightly number three still loses root?
As stated above after installing build #3 just go to the ROM Manager > Download ROM > Extras > Superuser 2.3.6.3 efgh and flash it in CWR, you'll have root again after that's flashed. You can still boot into CWR after updating by holding the power button down, selecting reboot then recovery, tap ok and it'll boot into CWR. This worked perfectly for me.

where is this file located on the SD card?

I was really excited for CM7 and I still am, but I think with all the issues I've been hearing around, I'm sticking with Apex till stable is released

been my stance since the start...im incredibly excited to run CM7...but will be waiting for a REAL Camera/GPS fix first

It's in the clockworkmod folder, then downloads...BTW, I have the .zip for the GB Multitouch keyboard saved on my sdcard from Apex, would it work to flash this?

There are several camera fixes. The GPS fix (driver replacement) is as good as it's gonna get. Coarse location issue appears to be a CM issue not a DX issue. I don't do Foursquare or mytracks and I know what zip codes I frequent.

The bigger issue for me is the Cell standby bug :(. I don't see any errors/warnings in alogcat.

I'm not interested in installing a 3rd party camera that takes pictures "almost as good" as the DX camera is capable of...that isn't a "fix" that is a patchwork work around...

if that is the case then i won't ever be flashing CM7...no use in flashing something that takes away functionality...

how about hardware decoding?...the video playback issues...

to be perfectly honest...you're handicapping the already dated hardware of the DX by using CM7 at this point...

So since I don't have the premium ROM Manager, can I just download the nightly build and then flash it via ClockWork? No need to SBF or anything, correct?

That's why its a beta. You don't need a reason to not flash a rom, especially a beta release. I don't ever user my camera our need my GPS. So I flashed it. I was getting bad battery life at first, but I since removed the droid overclock widget and I'm at 70% after 9.5 hours. above average for me. You guys don't need to tell us why you're waiting lol we know. Just sit back, enjoy MotoBlur and we'll let you know when the "real" Gingerbread is ready ;)

I use GPS but the fix is good enough for me. To be honest, the performance alone is worth installing the Beta. I'm having a blast with the CM options as well. Once the cell standby issue gets fixed, there'll be no reason, for me, to run stock.

I agree. I definitely thinks its at least worth a trial run. There is just something about how this rom feels that make it awesome. I never thought a true aosp rom would feel this much different from blur. And the cyanogen mod settings and theme chooser are icing on the cake.

I'm enjoying ApeX, not GingerBlur/MotoBlur.

Lol well congratulations. I wasn't trying to be rude if that was how my post came across. I'm glad you're enjoying Apex. You're going to love CM7 lol

That's probably true, but I'm in no hurry; I've already waited this long ;) what's a few more weeks, even a month going to do :D

are you being serious?...did i not post about how Beta=Broken with less letters...and that people don't understand what Beta means?...

i completely understand why this is a beta...we (myself and a couple others) were discussing why it is that we have not yet flashed CM7...i didn't realize that was not allowed...

i will however leave with this...

i know the big slogan of CM is "our devices, our way." implying that OEMs/Carriers lock down phones and don't allow us to fully use what we pay for....

well i paid for an 8MP camera...GPS location services, and a CPU capable of hardware decoding of media files...

CM7 doesn't allow me to enjoy those features yet...

as for real Gingerbread...you mean the one that doesn't even have speed dial? ;)
