Bluetooth GPS

I noticed that there is an option in CM7 under the Location & Security Settings for a different GPS source. It says "use external gps mouse instead".

What is that? A literally mouse with GPS?

If you did use that, would that help with the GPS lock? I.E. I put it on my dash so it could see the sky?

Just wondering :smokingsomb:

There are GPS dongles that work a little better than the ones in our phones, but I've never had enough of a problem with the one on the phone (not even on my old cheap Samsung Precedent) to warrant carrying another GPS puck around.

My though was to mount in somewhere in the car so it would see the sky better then where I mount the phone.

That feature on the cyanoge mod doesn't do much on the phone. I believe its a null feature on the ROM. What you can do is have GPS on a few minutes before every time you are going to use it so it can lock your location beforehand and not delay you in reaching your destination.

thanx.. I've used the thangfish workaround with the GPS Status app already. I was just curious if anyone tried a dongle solution
