Root [Boost Mobile] Help for a Noob

scitzz

Newbie
So. I am a 42 YO male, who is a minor tech geek, but not so much that this is my first time playing with the droid I have owned for 1/12 years. The other night, I got root first try, no issue, thanks devs! My phone is not a brick, and for that, I thank the great and powerful noodles of the FSM for embracing me and keeping my tech safe...

Anyhole, I have root now, right? So, I guess the next thing I need to do is get me a ROM. I am so SICK of random reboot, absolute crud for bluetooth conversations, nasty sounding speakers, and lastly, but not least by any means, I am TIRED of using my GPS, only to have the phone reboot 2 minutes and 2 turns away from my destination!

It would be nice to tether, and get a little faster speed from my CPU, and of course, being a hot spot would be nice.

Suggestions about which way I should go? I am on page 2 of Droidsmiths ROM, it might fit...

Thanks in advance!

OH! I did the Team win option for root, and as soon as I got supersu, I made a backup. I have downloaded Titanium but need to get to buying the pro version. That is where I am at.

Here is where all the Roms are at we currently have for download.

I have tried most of them myself, Since this is your first go at this, and you also want wi-fi hotspot included, I would stay with Droidsmith, WarpOEM, And Skinny's Halo Rom. JB is still currently under development as is Halo rom.

DroidSmith and Warp OEM are both final, and Rock Solid!!
I am Currently on Warp OEM 2.70, it is a Fantastic Piece of work if I do say so myself,

I finished my way through the droidsmith thread, and figure I am going to give that a try first, I really appreciate the input!

Looking at OEM that looks pretty cool too!

Awesome choice!!! :D
You did by reading through the threads.:)

Edit: I 5 starred your thread because of the way you
researched the roms first!!! Good Job!!

Why thank you :D For me, that is not unusual, my wife pokes gentle fun at me for the way I have to know every tiny little detail about something before I try/buy, or whatever.

Wanna hear a funny? At the last moment, I decided to go with OEM instead, just because you replied to me, and are using it. Then, it wouldn't install, so I went BACK to Droidsmith while awaiting an answer on the OEM thread, figure I can try that later. All seems well so far, and I am restoring from Titanium now.

I really do appreciate the help, and this forum, pretty cool place to spread some knowledge, gain it, and get help!
