Root Boot Loop when installing ROMs

I've tried installing several different ROMS such as Velocity 1.1, 1.2.1, 1.2, StormDroid 2.0 and 2.1 Nightly, Byron, and Bionix. Every single thing I've tried has put me into a never ending boot loop EXCEPT Velocity 0.4, which will actually boot up properly.

I have AmonRa recovery, I WIPE all user data before each flash, and disable signature verification each time.

Any ideas?

If u previously had velocity 0.4 installed. (YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE FROYO UPGRADE METHOD) mentioned by trident in the velocity forums. In the velocity 1.0 update i believe? He mentions using the lg updater tool as part of the upgrade. That process must be complete first before using any 2.2 based custom rom
