Root Calibrating Galaxy battery for longer unplugged life

I have seen the above ( I know where you got it !! ), but haven't tried it yet. Since I have to charge today anyway, I will give it a go and see what happens.

@sgx100:
you've beaten me to this post! i had read this the other day (EDIT: on another forum) and wanted to try it out and see if this was true. i followed the commands on wednesday and my battery lasted me to 40-something percent on friday ... no joke! the key is to not only do those charging instructions properly, but also to disable wifi when not in use and it was recommended to have an APN toggle widget. i also installed ATK (i know the split reaction of the android community regarding this) and was able to immediately kill the apps that run on start-up to free upto 42 RAM!!!
this works as posted ... i can guarantee that!

EDIT: FYI -- this definitely works on Galaxo 1.6.3.4 (i reverted back because of battery sucking with the latest nightlies) but haven't given it a shot with GAOSP

And the next charge session we are suppose to do the same? or this is just a one time thing, then the battery last longer and we can charge normaly?

I got it off the GAOSP>Wiki>GAOSP Tips
I will try this on the latest nightly tomorrow and report

What do you mean by 40 percent
Well its not about beating or whatever you call it dude.As cagefighter once told me -its all about sticking together and helping each other :p
Not to mention we have deserted by Samsung.

I think this is a one time process, just like with laptop batteries. Albeit with the lappy battery its done with a software or from the BIOS

I had used a similar technique with ni-cad batteries on rc cars and it worked really well. Nothing like being able to stuff near 13v into a 7.2v battery ...

oh, i'm sorry. did i forget to put "LOL" after it???
i'm not saying that it's a race, just acknowledging the fact that this seems (atleast to me) to be a new take on extending battery life.

(smiley face inserted so you now know my mood ... good?)

for the other question, i'm not sure if it's a one-time deal or not, but i figured to do it if i've got the time.

It was all in good spirit dude :o
We stick it out together...We win together :D

well its been 20 hours since i finnished the recharge, and i`m still at 100 :D lol, but i go to airplane mode during the sleep time, from midnite till 9 am.

Ran the sequence yesterday, afterwards got infected with nosleep-bug so can't tell if there's any change. Prior to test, after ~3days battery was at 50%.

Im at 50 percent post 24 hours
Though almost did not use the phone...Just used twitter for like 15 min and browsed for 10 min.

So really cant say.

Letc

It gave me 2days and 5 hours untill it went to 20% and i plugged it in... in the 2nd day i did gps navigation with navdroyd, browsing and downloading, live tv streaming with SPB TV, a few phone calls, some armored strike online, music and youtube. I`m satisfied.

I hate to ask, but what do they mean by "reboot"?. :o

... I'm assuming just turning the phone off and then back on again?.

And just another quick question, do you kill your battery completely before charging, or just plug it in when the phone tells you the battery is low and to do so?. Basically I'm just curious if I can go start the process now, my phone is almost dead, or should I wait some more?.

Thanks guys,

Jonathan

Me again ... LOL!.

I just thought of something else I'm not 100% sure on.

I just finished checking my phone to see where it was in relation to being finished/fully charged or not, and I remembered that I've never actually seen on the phone/screen, words to the effect "fully charged", "charging complete", etc. It's as if my phone, when I plug it in with it still on, can "charge" forever...

I hope that made some kind of sense. :o

Thanks again,

Jonathan

You can do both, I mean on charging with the phone off or on.
It takes some time for you to see words fully charged or better to say "Charged" but it does have that. So patience my dear friend. :p
