Help Cannot regain data (3G) connection once lost

Chris1980

When my data connection (3G) is lost due to lack of signal sometimes it never reconnects again, despite being in an area of high signal strength. I have 'always on' mobile internet toggled. To solve this I have to turn the phone off and on again, which is annoying.

If you don't want to do a full reboot, you can try Fast Reboot and see if that helps.

If not, you might be stuck with full reboots unless you're willing to factory reset in case some apps messed up your phone somehow.

I found this was happening when leaving the Wi-Fi network at home. I could still receive calls over the CDMA network but had no 3G connection (4G is still not here).

I tried a restart but that did not work. I discovered that I had to manually turn the mobile network back on by going into Setttings > Data Manager and checking "Data enabled". I believe this is the result of activating the Data Saver feature on my Motorola Droid Razr.
