Root cant boot into recovery mode

This is my first time rooting a phone, I rooted my F6 yesterday and now I'm trying to flash my phone for the first time.
I'm trying to boot into recovery mode with Quick boot so I can flash the SD hack for storage expansion. I have wiped my SD card, setup the partitions according to #301, and put the zip files from #309 onto the SD card. After that I put the card back into the phone while its on and open quick boot. When I tap recovery it turns off, shows the green android thing along with a progress bar (which fills up) for a quick second and then boots like normal.

If it matters I rooted with towelroot, I have SuperSU, and I have TWRP which I just tried to reboot with and the same thing happened. ROM Manager didn't work either.

Make sure that THIS is the TWRP you have installed.
I also reccomend booting into recovery with THIS app.
Edit: The app you get from the first link that installs TWRP should also do fine for rebooting into recovery.

Yes that is the link I used to download and install TWRP from. I don't have time to try again today since I only have the 1 class 10 SD card. Is there anything else that could be wrong?

Well I just noticed something else. If you are using twrp you shouldn't see a green android while in recovery mode. It sounds like your f6 doesn't have twrp because the green android on your screen is a cwm thing. You may want to re download twrp from the first link and re install it just to be sure everything is set up right.
