Help Can't load Autoprime TOT through LGFlashTool

Hometown

Lurker
LG G2 phone 32gb unlocked (ATT) with custom rom loaded. It was a "modified" D802 rom (lolllipop) to run on D800. Lost root, so used AutoRec to try and root. Used D800 file to start and it told us to use D802. After ran with D802, it would only go into Fastboot mode. Thanks to a similar post, guidance by IowaBowTech got me to the point I am now.
(I did reflash D800 files when was in Fastboot Mode. Laf, Modem, recovery, boot, aboot)

Current state.
1. Can put in Factory Reset Mode and complete factory reset through holding Volume - and power button. Then goes to LG logo and stays put
2. Can go into Download Mode (Firmware Update) by holding volume + and plug into computer.
3. Can't find device under ADB or Fastboot
4. Stays at LG logo if just turn on normal.
5. Device Manager show Ports (COM & LPT)>LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port

Tried
1. Finding device under Fastboot and ADB in both Windows 10 (can't find)and Ubuntu 14.04 (can't mount)
2. Tried loading Autoprime TOT files to put in original stock state using LGFlashTool with no success
a. Tried with D800 TOT files (actual phone Model) and said wrong model. Claims it's a D802
b. Tried with D802 TOT files (this also gave me an error)
3. Had Device Manager originally fixed and recognizing device. Now?????
4.Originally got drivers loaded via PDANET+. It Appears I have now lost that function too!

So to recap, "had" device manager recognizing device, LGFlashTool recognizing device but giving me a FAIL when trying to load D800 and D802. Now can't get Device Manager, LGFlash, ADB and Fastboot to recognize device.

Do I need to ReFlash Laf, Modem, recovery, boot, aboot files with D802?

Thanks in advance (sorry if I missed something)

The "wrong model" error can be fixed by hexediting the D800 tot. Open it and search for 800. The first instance you should come across is the full model number followed by the software version. Change only that first model number from D800 to D802, then save and exit.

Because your phone now "thinks" its a D802, that will trick the flash tool program into thinking it's ok to proceed. Which it is of course. You really do own a D800, it's just confused right now in thinking it's a D802.

When trying to flash the newly modified tot, you may run into a "cross dll" error next. If so, swap out the dll you are currently using with this one instead:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ar4ajjrn1n3f1ia/LGUP_8974_Ncrypt3d.dll?dl=0

Then your hexedited tot should flash with no errors and you'll restore your D800 to its original self.

For the hexeditor, you might try the win version of wxHexeditor unless you have other ideas:

Thanks, will try with new hexeditor. I have tried different hexeditor under windows and ubuntu both. Stupid question, do I save it like a normal file? I have tried to save as original, normal (naming it something else) and also adding .tot to end. All of those files "fail".
Will follow up with hexeditor listed above. currently saving is in progress

Linux would be the ideal option as it handles hexeditors much better. If it's failing, that usually happens when you accidentally change the number of bytes. Typically most hexeditors have a viewing pane, most times along the far right side. Once you find the model, simply click on the right edge of D800, then backspace once, then type in a 2 so it becomes D802. Then save and exit and it should be successful. If not, there may have been changes you made earlier in which you overwrote the original file. If so, get an original, unaltered kdz and try again.

ok, makes sense. current file still saving from the hexeditor you said to try. Is it normal for the file to take 2 hours to save?

I would like to root phone again. How do I check the versions on phone now that it is up and running? Want to make sure I apply correct software.
Thanks
