Root cant update even with *#*#checkin#*#*

I recently broke my old allys screen so i ended up takin my steps dad old ally. It was on 2.2.2 so i went to root it and started following the guide to root it got to 2.1 update one with fastboot now no mater how i try to get it to update i just keeps saying the system is up to date..idk what to do
 
I'm having the same issue after using the LGNPST method for returning to 2.1-update. I can't seem to get OTA updates to activate and every other method has fallen short by some sort of error or missing files.

Can anyone out there offer some advice on how to force an update to 2.2.2?
