Root Choppy mp4 video?

I tried copying a couple of .mp4 videos to my (new to me) N7 2012.

The videos play, but they are very choppy, looks like it's only showing like every 5th frame. The vids are in 720p, and average 800Mb each.

I'm running the latest Tamasek's Unofficial CM11 with Franco Kernel #48 if that makes any difference.

Any thoughts?

What player are you using? I had that issue until i started using bs player.

Just using the "Google Play" player and opening as local media... will check out BS Player.

edit: thanks, just installed and works great... now to figure out how to boost the volume a bit

play files in software mode (sw) instead of (hw) allows extra volume steps. up to 30 instead of just 15.
