Root CM7, Nightly 177. Can I apply Dalingrin's Overclock Now?

Running 177. I have noticed that when viewing web-based video that running CPU Master and setting the NC to 1200MHz and On Demand really makes the video smoother.

When I originally rooted, I installed Clockwork Mod Recovery and Nightly 177, but did not install Dalingrin's Overclock Kernel. Therefore, everytime the unit boots, even though I have OnBoot checked in CPU Master, it reverts back to the 800MHz setting. Not sure why.

The Dalingrin's OC was mentioned here:

Can I safely install this now, and will the max I can get from the CPU be 1100MHz (instead of 1200)?

Any advice / insight appreciated. :)

If you install a custom kernel you'll end up in a boot loop. You already have the latest kernel since it was included with #132 and builds after. Install Nook Tools to OC your NC.

* This kernel is included in CM7 starting with nightly 132 and will be CM 7.1 stable. There is no need to flash a separate kernel unless you are running Stock Froyo 1.2.

-As of 06/09/11 the CPU clock can be customized via this app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1104039

Thank you so much for pointing that out.

Would you know why I am unable to "stick" the CPU to a persistent 1200MHz "On Demand" mode across boots of the Nook? Very frustrating that it keeps resetting to 800MHz "Conservative" when I power down and back up.

Perhaps I'm using the wrong utility (I'm using Atutu's CPU Master)? Maybe the Nook Tweaks applet is conflicting. I see. Thanks again.

I think I understand. Thank you and I'll give it a go, and let you know.

Thanks in general for all the support, even though you've already given up your NC. It means a lot.
