Costing me my hard earned!

[Android Question]

I have a GTS5360 and I am on pay as you go.
The internet is downloading stuff and is costing me money!
How do I turn it off, so the phone just works for call and texts??
Anybody help me out there?

Turn off mobile data - on vanilla android that's Settings .. More .. Mobile networks and untick Data enabled. It's probably slightly different on your phone but it's going to be somewhere in the Networks settings.

You may want to take a look at your data settings to see if you can identify what's using all the data. Most likely culprits are: sync for your Google accounts / FaceBook / Twitter / News / Weather or some rogue app that keeps downloading ads. You might also want to check how often you're syncing your e-mail.

If you experiment while your connected to WiFi, hopefully that won't cost you anything.
