Root CPU Governing Mode

Android Expert
I used the advice I read elsewhere here, and on my other Android phone, changed from OnDemand to Conservative. It seemed to improve my battery run-time.

I used CPU Master Free, but I think even if I select "Set On Boot" it isn't persistent. I'll have to experiment.

What are other people using to set the CPU Governing Mode?
thnks

p.s. Suggestion: I think we should try to make some other threads. It seems some of the threads, for example the one I started on "Verizon - Solid?" is covering several issues now. That makes it harder for newbies like myself to find what they need.

Is this for rooted phones only?
I need to help my battery charge life but don't want to root (yet).
yes it does require root. If you use the power options widget you can increase yur battery life some. Use it to turn off data signal, gps, bluetooth when your not using them. Also set your screen timer at its lowest or one of the lowest settings. Make sure your wifi is all turn off except when using, you dont want it constantly searching for signals and notifying when there are signals. just some basic tips for ya.

Stef i was using Rom Toolbox with the same results. It would automatically revert back to ondemand even with out a reboot. Now with the new Rom it appears to be set to conervative by default.

No Frills CPU is free, lightweight, works well, keeps your boot setting and also has I/O settings. Otherwise, I use SetCPU (which I paid for ages ago *shrug*).
