Root Custom ROM installing on phone

I have a rooted lg spirit. I have the samurai zip file on the phone right now and I have tried to install it multiple times. I use ROM manager and I load the ROM on to that but the phone boots up to the stock ROM. How do I load a ROM onto this phone, I've never done it before!

stop trying to use rom manager. you need to flash it manually in CWM Recovery. go here.
